Software for Australian eCommerce brands that’ve outgrown Shopify-and-a-spreadsheet

If you’re selling across Shopify, Amazon, eBay and a wholesale channel — with stock in your warehouse, a 3PL, and on dropship — the bottleneck stops being marketing and starts being operations. We connect Cin7 Core or Odoo as the operational backbone behind your storefronts so stock stays accurate, orders flow, and you can finally see real margin per channel and per SKU. We integrate; we don’t design Shopify themes — that’s a different specialism.

What we hear from eCommerce operators

Everyone’s problem looks different on the surface. Underneath, it’s usually one of these.

Stock oversells across channelsYou sell on Shopify, Amazon, and eBay. They don’t talk to each other. You oversell weekly and refund-then-apologise has become a workflow.
3PL is a black boxYou ship to your 3PL. After that, you’re relying on emailed CSVs and weekly reconciliations. Real-time stock visibility doesn’t exist.
Margin per SKU is a guessYou can pull total revenue and total cost. You can’t pull profit per SKU per channel after fees, freight, and returns — the only number that actually matters.
Returns drown the officeManual receipts, no link to the original order, restocking decisions made by gut. Returns inventory goes uncounted for weeks.
B2B is bolted-on awkwardlyYou started DTC, added wholesale, and now your B2B customers are placing orders by emailing your sales rep because the website can’t handle their pricing.
Accounting is always behindDaily Shopify payouts, Amazon settlements, Stripe fees, freight invoices — nothing reconciles cleanly into Xero without manual journal entries.

What we recommend you put in place

The eCommerce operational stack has a clear shape once you’ve done a few of them. Here’s what works for Australian brands turning over $2M–$30M.

Operations
Cin7 Core is the default for stock-led DTC and DTC+wholesale brands — built for the eCommerce-to-warehouse flow. Odoo is the right call when you also need light manufacturing, kitting, subscription, or a customer portal alongside DTC.
Storefronts
Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce — connected via official connectors with stock, pricing, and orders synced both ways. We’ll work alongside whoever designed your store; we don’t replace them.
Marketplaces
Amazon AU, eBay, Catch — orders pulled into one pipeline, stock pushed out, settlements reconciled to actual product cost. No more spreadsheet-by-channel reconciliations.
3PL & warehouse
Direct integrations to the major Australian 3PLs (ShipBob AU, eFulfilment, Bezos, custom). Where your 3PL doesn’t have a connector, we build a custom feed in Make.com or Python.
Accounting
Xero, kept clean. Sales summaries, payouts, fees, refunds, freight — all categorised correctly so monthly close stops being a fight.
Reporting
Real margin per SKU, per channel, per customer cohort — either inside Cin7/Odoo or surfaced into Looker Studio / Power BI. The reports your accountant can’t build for you.

How we deliver this

eCommerce implementations live or die on data. SKU consistency, channel mapping, and freight/fee logic are where projects either succeed quietly or stall publicly.

Audit channels & data (1–2 weeks)

We map every channel, every fulfilment path, every SKU variant across systems. We tell you upfront what’s clean, what duplicates, and what needs consolidation before configuration starts.

Configure & connect (4–7 weeks)

System set up around your real workflow. Channel connectors live. 3PL feeds tested with real orders. Accounting connector configured for sales-summary, fee, and freight reconciliation.

Cutover with a fallback (1–2 weeks)

Hard cutover usually over a quiet weekend. We keep the old workflow ready as a fallback for 2 weeks while we monitor every order, every reconciliation, every stock movement.

Optimise (ongoing)

Once data is clean, the reporting and automation work begins. Margin dashboards, automated reorder rules, marketplace expansion, B2B portal — the things you couldn’t see were possible before.

Why eCommerce brands work with Software4Business: We’re a Brisbane-based Cin7 Core and Odoo specialist with 25+ years of integration experience — the layer between your storefront and your accounting that nobody else owns. We don’t design Shopify themes, run paid media, or pretend to. We make the operational layer behind your store actually work, so your designers, marketers, and 3PL can do their jobs without manually reconciling everything.

Common questions from eCommerce operators

Do you build or redesign Shopify stores?

No. We integrate to whatever storefront you already have or are building — Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce. If you need a designer or theme developer, we’ll happily refer you to Australian agencies we’ve worked alongside.

Cin7 Core or Odoo for an eCommerce business?

Cin7 Core is the better default for stock-led DTC brands and DTC+wholesale — it’s built around that exact flow. Odoo wins when you also need manufacturing, subscription billing, a customer portal, or deep CRM. We’ll tell you honestly in the scoping call.

How do you handle Shopify oversells across multiple channels?

The operational system (Cin7 Core or Odoo) becomes the single stock master. It pushes available-to-sell numbers out to every channel in near-real-time, and pulls orders back in. The channel itself never sees real stock — it sees a buffer-managed number controlled centrally.

Can you reconcile Shopify Payments or Amazon settlements into Xero properly?

Yes. This is one of the most common reasons businesses come to us. Done right, the daily payout matches the bank, fees are categorised, refunds linked, and your bookkeeper’s month-end goes from a 3-day fight to a 2-hour check.

How long for a Cin7 Core eCommerce implementation?

Single channel + Shopify + 3PL: 6–8 weeks. Multi-channel + marketplace + 3PL + B2B: 10–14 weeks. Data quality is the single biggest variable.

What does it cost?

Software licensing $400–$1,500/month depending on users and modules. Implementation typically $20K–$45K depending on scope. Fixed-fee proposal after the scoping call.
